New ICI Paints Store Opens in Fishers

Company celebrates opening with gala and donates 300 gallons of paint to Habitat for Humanity

Fishers, Ind., March 19, 2003 - An ICI Paints store located at 12993 Parkside Drive will open on March 19 with a grand opening event from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony at noon. In conjunction with the opening, ICI Paints will donate 300 gallons of paint to the Hamilton County Habitat for Humanity, an organization that provides affordable housing for people in need.

ICI Paints is a proud national sponsor of Habitat for Humanity, with plans to provide more than 20,000 gallons of free paint to support Habitat house build projects across the country this year.

The grand opening event at the store will feature a hog roast lunch served from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., casino games of chance, product demonstrations and special pricing from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. By opening the new store, ICI Paints will improve local service and make it easier and more convenient for professional painting contractors, maintenance managers and community development corps to obtain painting supplies for area projects.

"The Town of Fishers is very pleased that ICI Paints has elected to open a paint store in our area," said Fishers Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Christi Wolf. "Not only is ICI Paints contributing to our growing economy, it is truly sharing in Fishers' unique spirit of community by making a commitment to a worthwhile organization like Habitat for Humanity."

The new 3,500 square foot store is managed locally by Mathew Meriwether. The store employs four people and joins 14 other ICI Paints stores in Indiana. Store hours are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

"This store will improve our service for area painters and be a great convenience for many of our customers working nearby," said Steve Fink, ICI Paints District Manager for Indiana. "It also demonstrates our continuing commitment to serve this area and contribute to economic expansion in this city. We are also pleased to donate 300 gallons of paint to the Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County because we believe in giving back to the communities where we do business."

"This paint donation could not have come at a better time. Our Hamilton County affiliate is growing quickly and the donated paint will be used to paint several houses in their entirety in our area this year," said Bill Strauss, Executive Director of the Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County. "We are grateful to ICI Paints for this wonderful contribution to our community and our hard-working Habitat partner families."
