National discount program also supports Habitat for Humanity affiliates

Cleveland, August 18, 2004 - ICI Paints, an international leader in the manufacture, marketing and distribution of world-class paint brands including Glidden and Ralph Lauren, has donated nearly 40,000 gallons of paint in the first two years of an ongoing relationship with Habitat for Humanity International, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing simple and affordable housing for families in need.

Habitat affiliates in Boston, Charlotte, Cleveland, Columbus, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Worth, Fresno, Houston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Sacramento, Saint Louis, San Antonio, San Francisco and Tampa all have received paint donations in the past two years under the program. These paint donations covered the needs for every house built by each Habitat affiliate in these markets during 2003 and 2004 - a total of more than 500 homes.

In addition, a national discount program representing approximately 50 percent off retail price for paint has been popular with affiliates that did not receive donated paint. During the first two years of the program, more than 100 Habitat affiliates have taken advantage of the discount program to support their house builds.

ICI Paints has also supported Habitat for Humanity with other in-kind donations, including donations of more than 400 surplus protective work gloves to the international Habitat office and more than $17,000 worth of surplus paint-related equipment (e.g. brushes, rollers, caulk, sandpaper) to the Fresno Habitat affiliate. In all, ICI Paints has donated nearly $500,000 worth of paint and related products to Habitat for Humanity affiliates in the first two years of the program.
