Company also provides cash, paint donations to local Red Cross chapters

Cleveland, June 21, 2004 - ICI Paints, a worldwide leader in marketing and manufacturing respected paint and coating brands, conducted a seven-city program this year to help promote the American Red Cross "Together We Prepare" program to contractors and consumers in ICI Paints stores.

ICI Paints introduced its version of the program -- called "If You'll Give A Pint, We'll Give A Gallon" -- to link with the blood donation step of the American Red Cross "Together We Prepare" program at its spring painting contractor trade shows in Boston, Cleveland, Chicago, Dallas, Fresno, Houston and Phoenix.

During the shows, ICI Paints and local Red Cross representatives explained the program to attendees and encouraged them to sign up.

ICI Paints also donated $1,000 and 150 gallons of paint to the local Red Cross Chapter in each city. Some of the chapters are using the paint to spruce up their local facilities, while others are passing the paint donation on to other community organizations. Donations totaled $7,000 plus 1,050 gallons of paint.

"Together We Prepare" is the American Red Cross' six-step awareness and participatory program that helps individuals and groups plan for emergencies and disasters before they occur. Individuals can agree to participate in any or all of the steps. The steps are Make a Plan, Build a Kit, Get Trained, Give Blood, Volunteer and/or Donate.

"We see the opportunity to support the Red Cross' "Together We Prepare" program as a timely, worthwhile endeavor," said Matt Barkett, ICI Paints Communications Director. "We helped introduce the program to thousands of our customers in seven cities and we had many people interested in learning more about the program and signing up for it. In Dallas and Chicago, for example, tornadoes struck the areas just a few days before the show. Knowing what to do in an emergency can make all the difference in saving lives, both on the jobsite and at home."
