ICI Paints® Opens New ICI Paints Store in Leesburg
Company donates 100 gallons of paint to Leesburg Center for the Arts to commemorate opening
Leesburg, FL, July 14, 2005 - An ICI Paints store located at 500 North Canal Street in Leesburg will open on Thursday, July 14 with a grand opening event from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring door prizes, breakfast and barbecue lunch along with special pricing on paint and related items for professionals and consumers alike.
In conjunction with the opening, ICI Paints will donate 100 gallons of paint to the Leesburg Center for the Arts, an organization that began in year 2000 as a redevelopment tool to address the community's need for a centralized creative component. It exists for the purpose of creating growth and vitality in the community, providing educational opportunities in the arts for all ages, providing cultural events for the community and offering a central location which attracts talented artists, artisans, musicians and appreciative audiences. The Center's primary programs include art festivals, an art institute and outreach programming, which extends into our public schools.
"The paint donation could not have come at a better time," said Kathy Cook, Artistic Director of the Leesburg Center for the Arts. "The donated paint will be used by our team to repaint and upgrade our new facility and work on various other projects. We thank ICI Paints for its generous donation and welcome its store to our community."
By opening the new store, ICI Paints will improve local service and make it easier and more convenient for professional painting contractors, maintenance managers and community development corps to obtain painting supplies for area projects.
"We are very pleased that ICI Paints has elected to open a paint store in Leesburg," said Jim Perry, Assistant City Manager. "The Canal Street location ties in beautifully with the city's current Canal Street gateway enhancement project, a win-win for both of us. We appreciate their investment in Leesburg which will create jobs and boost economic development in our area. We congratulate ICI Paints on its continued success."
The new store is managed locally by Tim Sousa. The store employs four people and joins five other ICI Paints stores in the Orlando market. Store hours are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
"This store will improve our service for area painters and be a great convenience for many of our customers working nearby," said Wayne Wojewoda, District Sales Manager for ICI Paints. "It also demonstrates our continuing commitment to serve this area and contribute to economic expansion in the Orlando area. We are also pleased to donate 100 gallons of paint to the Leesburg Center for the Arts because we believe in giving back to the communities where we do business."
